Our air-sealed cover has been specifically designed to eliminate heat loss and stop cold air from coming into the house through the recessed light fixture. Our light covers made out of a flame retarded ABS material Note: Our recessed light covers are intended for use on IC rated thermally protected recessed light fixtures that are installed to manufacturers specifications using the correct wattage light bulb. Installation Instructions Step 1: Make sure the recessed light is a thermally protected IC rated light fixture. Step 2: Confirm the fixture has at least a 1/2" of clearance on all sides when positioned on the rails of the the fixture. Step 3: Cut a hole or a slot in the side to accommodate for the fixture's wiring and place seal-a-light over the recessed light. Step 4: Using flame retardant grade foam (available from your local home center), seal around all fours sides and the hole/slot for wiring of the seal-a-light creating an air tight seal between the fixture and ceiling.
